Hypothyroidism is a common endocrine disorder resulting from deficiency of thyroid hormone. It is a process in which thyroid gland produces insufficient thyroid hormone.

Diet:
Reduce soya products, cabbage, cauliflower, and broccoli.
Consume foods that are rich in antioxidants & B vitamins.
Take iodised salt in small quantity and items rich in natural iodine such as vegetables grown near sea and fruits like cashew fruit, coconut water.
Eat food high in fibre, fresh vegetables, berries, beans, lentils. These food help in losing weight and promote regularity in bowel movements.
Food that are good source of selenium such as pomegranate, green beans, almonds, peas, help for a healthy thyroid function
Increase consumption of omega 3 fatty acids found in flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, walnuts, almonds, whole grain products.
Naturopathy Treatments
Applications of throat pack for 45 minutes every day, mud pack to throat 15minutes every day & salt water gargling are recommended.
Steam & sauna bath, oil massage, underwater massage, hip bath, spinal bath, acupuncture, full mud bath, enema, and colon hydrotherapy will help to improve the function of thyroid gland.
Regular practice of yogaasana is effective. Opt for Suryanamaskar, Sarvangasana, Matysana, Dhanurasana, Ushtrasana, etc.
Ujjay and bhramari pranayama to be practiced in the morning. Regular practice of jalandhara bandha can regularize secretion of thyroid hormone.
Brisk walk and regular physical exercises also help.
